Why use this QR code generator
No signup required
Generate as many codes as you like. There's no account to create and no email to hand over.
Codes never expire
This is a static QR code — your text is baked directly into it, with no tracking redirect behind it, so there's nothing that can expire or get shut off later.
Private by design
Generation happens entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to a server.
Custom colors and padding
Set your own foreground and background colors, and control how much quiet space surrounds the code.
Contrast checked
A built-in warning flags color combinations that are too low-contrast to scan reliably.
PNG, SVG, or clipboard
Download a raster PNG, an SVG that stays sharp at any print size, or copy it directly to paste elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There are no signups, no paywall, and no limit on how many codes you can create or download.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. What you type is never sent to a server.
What is error correction, and which level should I use?
Error correction lets a QR code still scan even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or partly covered by a logo. Standard is a good default for most uses; use Max if the code will be printed small or placed somewhere it might get scuffed.
Can I download the QR code as SVG instead of PNG?
Yes. Both formats are available, plus a one-click copy to your clipboard. SVG is a good choice for printing at large sizes since it stays sharp at any scale.
Will a custom color QR code still scan properly?
Usually, yes, as long as there's strong contrast between the foreground and background colors. The generator warns you if your chosen colors are too close in contrast to scan reliably.
Is this a static or dynamic QR code?
Static. Your link or text is encoded directly into the code itself, rather than pointing to a redirect service. That's what makes it work forever with no subscription and no expiry — but it also means the code can't be edited or redirected after you've printed it.
Can I use these QR codes commercially?
Yes. There's no license or attribution required — use them on packaging, menus, posters, or anywhere else you need.
